LCPD Arrests One After Shooting Into An Occupied Vehicle

LAKE CITY, FL -- The Lake City Police Department has issued a statement concerning an alleged assault in the city late Tuesday afternoon. It reads as follows:
 
"On Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 5:35 P.M., officers from the Lake City Police Department were dispatched to 2580 SW Windsong Circle to a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located the scene and searched for victims. After locating no victims, witnesses began approaching officers and describing a subject they had observed firing several rounds from a handgun into a white pickup truck that was traveling slowly through the parking lot. Several witnesses identified the subject as Jerrick Edward Brown. The white pickup later returned to the scene and both occupants provided officers with statements.
Officers secured the crime scene, began taking statements and collecting evidence. While still on scene, officers were alerted to a vehicle leaving the area that Brown was known to occupy. A traffic stop was conducted and Brown was located lying down in the back seat of the vehicle. Brown was taken into custody without further incident.
