FL DOH Releases Weekly Statewide COVID-19 Update

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The Florida Department of Health has issued the following weekly statewide COVID-19 update:

Issues Update on COVID-19

Today (12/19/20), the Florida Department of Health issued an update on COVID-19. This week, the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were received in Florida, and are being administered to front-line health care workers and long-term care facility staff and residents. To provide Floridians with the latest information about vaccinations in the state, the Florida Department of Health has issued a COVID-19 vaccine report that will be updated daily. This report includes information on the COVID-19 vaccine by county, race, sex and age. Find the first COVID-19 vaccine report herePlease find all daily reports here.


As of today (12/19/20) at 7 a.m., 32,707 individuals have been vaccinated for COVID-19 in Florida. 


As posted on the Agency for Health Care Administration’s hospitalization dashboard at 4:15 p.m., there are 5,086 current hospitalizations with a primary diagnosis of COVID-19.

Positive test results:

  • Yesterday’s statewide positivity rate for new cases is 8.35 percent.

Today (12/19/20), data reported to DOH shows there has been a steady decline in the number of reported Florida resident deaths who were previously diagnosed with COVID-19.

Florida long-term care facility data:

  • The list of long-term care facilities with active COVID-19 cases is available here.
  • The list of long-term care facilities with deaths is available herewhich is updated weekly.

Overall testing:

  • Yesterday, test results for 156,425 individuals were reported to DOH.
  • As of December 18, 1,193,165 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Florida.
