DOH-Columbia Highlights Recent Efforts In Providing COVID-19 Vaccine

LAKE CITY, FLThe Florida Department of Health in Columbia County has issued a statement concerning distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. It reads as follows:
"The Florida Department of Health in Columbia County, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health, Florida Division of Emergency Management, and Columbia County Board of County Commissioners is providing COVID-19 vaccination sites. In an effort to keep Florida residents and visitors safe and aware regarding the status of the virus, the Florida Department of Health in Columbia County will continue to issue this update every week. County health departments have an important role to play in administering vaccine. Here’s a summary of some of our top efforts this week.
• Provided total of 8,877 vaccinations (5,697 first dose and 3,180 second dose) to date in Columbia County
• Doses administered by non-CHD sites in Columbia County: Baya Urgent Care 22; CVS 2, Lake City Medical Center, 609; Publix 90; Walmart 155.
• Partnered with Columbia County Emergency Management for their use of Columbia County’s Everbridge Communication system and social media sites.
• Partnered with Florida Gateway College for their assistance of Nursing and EMT program instructors and students during vaccination events.
• Partnered with Century Ambulance Service and Excelsior Ambulance Service to provide onsite medical assistance at vaccination site.
The Florida Department of Health in Columbia County continues to fight to protect health and safety as the rollout of COVID-19 vaccine continues.
